Katherine Yellen has achieved the Certified Appraiser status by undertaking a formal course of study in appraisal principles and passing rigorous examinations on the theory and practice of professional appraising. Attaining this designation is a major professional achievement for an antique appraiser and there are only a few Certified Personal Property appraisers currently working in the state of Connecticut. Katherine has been certified by the ISA for both Antiques & Residential contents as well as for Fine Art. She continues building her knowledge by attending appraisal conferences and taking specialty coursework including American & European furniture construction, Tibetan art, Legal requirements for serving as an Expert witness and Appraisal methods for handling Damage/Loss claims.

Katherine has also completed coursework at the Regent Academy of Fine Arts in London, England for English Antiques and Decorative Arts as well as a certificate program at New York University in Appraisal Studies for Fine and Decorative Arts. She has been tested by the Appraisal Foundation which is authorized by Congress as the source of appraisal standards and appraiser qualifications (USPAP examinations passed in 1999 and 2003). Her membership as a Certified Appraiser of the International Society of Appraisers is an assurance to the general public that they are working with an appraiser who is dedicated to upholding the highest standards in accuracy, competency and integrity.
